The Power of Decision

The Power of Decision
Happy Friday!

Last week, we kicked off this series with The Power of Purpose, and I decided we're continuing it… because there's too much here not to talk about.

So today, let's talk about The Power of Decision.

Have you ever made a decision to do something…
…and then immediately talked yourself out of it?

You come up with every excuse:
  • “Now's not the right time.”
  • “I'll start next week.”
  • “I need to think about it more.”
Yeah… me too.
And I just want to call it what it is:

That is self-abandonment.

It's not loud.
It's not dramatic.
It's a sneaky little bitch.

Because in that moment, you didn't just change your mind…
You broke trust with yourself.

I wish I could tell you how many times I said I was going to cut alcohol out of my life before I actually did.

I wish I could tell you how many times I said I was going to make my health a priority before I did.

I wish I could tell you how many times I said I wasn't going back to a shitty relationship before I finally followed through.

There was always one thing standing in my way.
Me.

And here's the part most people don't want to hear:

There is only one thing standing in your way when this happens.

You.
Not your schedule.
Not your circumstances.
Not your past.
You.

Last week, we talked about purpose.

Getting clear on:
  • what you want
  • who you want to be
  • how you want to show up
And I hope you took some time to really sit with that.
Because once you know what you want…
Decision becomes everything.

Here's the truth:

Your life doesn't change when you get clear.
Your life changes when you decide.
And not just once.
Over and over again.

You don't fail because you don't know what to do.
You fail because you don't follow through on what you already decided.

Every time you say:

“I'm going to start.”
“I'm done with this.”
“I'm choosing something different.”

…and then you don't…
You reinforce a pattern:
“I don't trust myself.”

But the opposite is also true.
Every time you follow through - even in a small way -
You build self-trust.
And self-trust is where your power lives.

The macro is built in the micro.
It's not the big, life-changing decisions that define you.
It's the small ones.
The daily ones.
The ones no one sees.

So here's what I want you to ask yourself today:

Where in your life are you making decisions… and then abandoning them?

Where are you saying you want something… but not actually choosing it?

Because your life isn't built on what you say you want.
It's built on what you decide - and follow through on.

You are one decision away from a completely different life.

Not someday.
Not when everything is perfect.
Right now.

And no - it doesn't all change overnight.
But every time you choose differently…
You become someone different.

So if you've been waiting for the right moment…
This is it.
Make the decision.
And this time…
don't abandon yourself.

I hope you have the most beautiful weekend.
