Happy Friday!
I've been thinking a lot lately about what a gift it is to wake up to another day. Not because anything extraordinary happened, but because life has reminded me how precious ordinary days really are. I'm learning not to rush through my days, but notice them for what they truly are: a gift.
I've been sitting with uncertainty. You know that “in-between” space where you know your life is changing but none of the details have caught up yet? It's like I've been sitting on a time bomb of anxiety, and whether or not it goes off has everything to do with whether or not I let it.
So when this uncertainty starts to swell in my little heart, I've been surrendering over and over and over again. I've had to practice what I preach, if you will. I've had to stop, breathe deeply, and choose trust.
I've been taking breaks throughout my day to walk outside and look up. There is something about seeing the sky and watching the birds. Nature reminds me that my worries aren't nearly as big as they feel in the moment. I've also been reminding myself that everything has always worked out, even when I couldn't see how it would.
Even more, it's made me realize that peace isn't the absence of uncertainty. It's deciding that uncertainty doesn't get to take the wheel. I'm in charge here.
I don't know exactly what's coming next, but I do know this. Every chapter of my life that felt uncertain eventually became the story I was grateful to have lived. The uncertain times are the times I've grown the most. And today, I'm choosing to trust one more time.
Changing doesn't always feel exciting. Most of the time, it feels like waiting. We don't build trust when everything is certain. We build it while we're waiting.
Until next week…
I love you,
Lindsay M.

In Buddhism, there is a term called the “Bardo”. It often refers to the transition from life to death, but in a broader sense, it is a transition state that leads to a rebirth. When someone is in the Bardo, things are unsettled, unclear, and the future seems uncertain. Once you pass through the Bardo, you’ll experience increased self-awareness and spiritual enlightenment. You are wise not to resist this experience as it is preparation for a new level of evolution.
