Releasing the Outcome

If you're anything like me, you like to see results. Like, I am such a result-oriented human. When I make my mind up that I want something, or want to do something, I typically expect it to happen, the way I want, in the timeline I want, in the manner I see in my mind, especially when I'm putting in the work. But what happens when we do all the things we needed to do, and the door closes?

While what I'm about to share with you, I may not always adhere to at first, I will say, I'm becoming much better at it. That's because I'm putting my faith in something greater than me. I am changing the conversation. Rather than being bummed something didn't work out, I am excited that it didn't work out. Because that just means there is something better out there that I didn't even think about or know about.

When we can be in the mindset that we always have Source Energy behind us, and things are always working in our favor, we literally never have to worry. The things that don't go the way we wanted them to, that's protection. The thing that fell through, the job we didn't get, the relationship that ended, the flight that got delayed, the traffic we sit in…ALL of these things happen FOR us. We may not see it yet, and we may not understand it yet, and that is where faith comes in.

Our job is to pay attention to our feelings and our internal dialogue. Our mindset has everything to do with how things go in our lives. Sure, we have experiences we don't prefer, but those are all just nudges for you to focus on what you DO prefer. And when you think about all those things, you'll get more of those things. If you think more about the lack and the things you don't have, you'll get more of the same.

When we have a dream, it is not for us to work out the details. Something I learned years ago from the late, great Dr. Wayne Dyer, is when you believe it, you'll see it. Know what you want. Envision it, work on the things, and then release the outcome. I know it sounds counter productive, but the magic is in the unknown. It's in the excitement. It's in the “I'm not sure how, but I can't wait to see. I'm open to the surprise.” And then LET IT GO. And just keep going about your day in confidence that you are exactly where you need to be RIGHT NOW.

If something didn't go your way this week, my wish for you is that you take the weekend and reset. Honor your feelings of being bummed and then thank the Universe for the shift. I hope you can focus on the good. Focus on the beautiful. Pivot. Shift. You are in control of your mind things. Never forget that. Stay in a state of love. Stay in a state of gratitude. Stay in a state of knowing.

As Dr. Dyer always said, “When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.”

I love you.
